So I have referred to the idea that creativity comes in many forms. Not just the stereotypical idea that Art and Creativity only come in the forms of painting or drawing. Here is a great idea of pulling 2 ideas together!
Let’s just say that my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon would not be sitting in the garage replacing tail lights and “doo dads” under the hood of the car to red instead of black. Among many other projects that seem to go on under the hood of the car it’s just not my thing. But you know who does LOVE it….my son. Since he was little cars have been his thing. As he has gotten older doing things together that involve something we both enjoy can be a challenge.
This happens across the board, boys, girls, moms, dads, grand parents. You name the relationship and you’ll find an infinite variety of things we each consider fun. Consider doing something together that ties in 2 creative outlets. How about making a car toy model. Or painting a ceramic car to look just like yours. Maybe you each paint a car and chat while doing it! Better yet how about I paint a nice kitchen canister while you paint a car 🙂
If dad is working on the car and daughter or son don’t find that interesting how about some coloring sheets to do at a table in the garage while you talk to dad about his car.
